Yesterday started out lovely, just lovely. The sky was blue, the sun was bright, and all was lookin' good...that is, until we got to the school and started to load everything up. You could see clouds a-comin' on the horizon and I started praying..."dear God, no rain, please, no rain." Well, the rain held off until around 3:00pm...just in time to rain on our group while they were doing their clinics. But, at least it was just a drizzle at that point!

(Teen son is 2nd from Left)
That drizzle turned into a steady rain that came and went like a faucet turning on and off and on and off. It was decided that the bands would still compete outside, so at 7:30pm, our band took the field. It was still raining, more like a drizzly mist, but just enough to make taking pictures kind of difficult. But, what a thrill it was to watch all of their hard work pay off as they "did their thing" out on the field. We ended up receiving 2nd place in our Class and also Best Percussion.
(We have an Awesome Percussion Section!)
Even though it was wet and cold, there still isn't anyplace else that I would have rather been!

Hubs drove the equipment truck yesterday to an away tourney outside Philly...left at 7:30am and got home at almost 1am. Son's band was the only one in their category so they won even tho 3 kids were not there.lol
ReplyDeleteGlad you have a good day despite the rain...
